Well, the past few days have been pretty relaxing really. I bought my new iPod touch from Future Shop and so I’ve been playing around with that - it’s so useful out here. Whenever there is a wireless hotspot I can check my email, browse the web, check out where we are on Google maps, get directions to our next destination, check Facebook, write a blog and even check the current exchange rate! It’s all rather amazing really these days of technology.

Anyway, enough of that… what else have we been doing? Well, last night we went out for a Chinese meal with Andy - it cost us $25 dollars each and we had loads of food including crispy duck and even some beer! Such good value as that’s only about £12.50! We were suitably impressed and it was a very fun night.

Today our plans are to walk around the shopping street, maybe finding some more bargains whilst in Canada. It won’t be long before we’re jetting off to New Zealand so we need to make the most of being here where it’s cheap.

So our next update will quite probably be from Aukland, NZ - crazy to think isn’t it. But we have a podcast going (see www.evilfishadam.co.uk) and we might even do one whilst in the air - how crazy would that be… So keep an eye out.

More in a few days.

I can now use my new iPod to write blog entries! Quite cool. Just thought I’d check if it works. It does!

Vancouver again!

So, we’re in Vancouver, found Adam, and now at the hostel! All is good! We’ll write more later, but this is just to tell everyone that we’re safely here and having lots of fun. Off out tonight for Adam’s first taste of Canadian beer…

Our Whistler part of the trip is coming to an end now. We had our last day of work on Sunday which was really good fun - although Anneliese managed to put whipped cream & caramel all over us (an event which happens to everyone who leaves). I was particularly not pleased when it went ALL OVER the cash-out which I was doing at the time! But hey, it was my last day and will audit really care about a caramel smelling envelope? Anyway, the day was fun and the staff party was in the evening so we had lots of fun there. The theme was ‘Tailer Park Trash’, so Helen and I dressed up really badly (including both of our hair being straightened!).

So we’ve had Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday all to relax and ski without the dread of having to go back to work! It’s been really good - the sun was out yesterday morning so the skiing was amazing for our last day on Whistler this season. We’re going up Blackcomb today and the plan is to stop in at Glacier Creek towards the end of the day and have a beer :-). Then after that it’ll be our last ever ski run of the season :-(. It’ll be very odd not to ski everyday…

Tonight we’re having our leaving drinks in Cinnamon Bear - the bar in the Hilton Hotel which is really nice and really cheap! Perfect bar I say! There’s some other people from work leaving as well so there’s going to be lots of people there hopefully - should be a fun way to say goodbye to everyone.

The next leg of our trip starts today really as Adam is flying out - infact as I write this, he’ll be on the plane waiting for it to take off! Crazy stuff! So he’ll be in Vancouver tonight and tomorrow night before we join him on Saturday. Hopefully he’ll be able to sleep off his jet lag before we get there :-S. Our plans for Vancouver are to generally chill out, relax, sort out some banking stuff, send home skis and meet up with friends.

So… that’s all for now really… the next update will probably be from Vancouver!

And now some videos for you:

This is a video of our daily commute to work. It’s quite dark as it was taken just after the clocks went back.

This is a video of Helen doing some spinning on her new skis - pretty decent improvement for a season of skiing eh!

Anna skiing down Ego Bowl with Helen in front and me skiing behind with the camera.Well there’s lots of information about what we’ve been doing recently! But I’ll elaborate as well…

So after Mum, Dad, Dave, Sharon, Nett & Peter left, Helen and I had to go back to the real Whistler world of staff housing, getting up early for work and lots of pasta and sauce! But we’ve had fun times - it’s been busy at work but they’ve been rewarding us with drinks at Merlin’s.

Helen’s sister Anna arrived a week ago! So she’s been learning to ski and then the past couple of days we’ve been skiing with her, showing her the sights of Whistler and having lots of fun. We went to Cinnamon Bear (a bar in Whistler) last night with a few friends for a night out - it was fun! Today we’re just having a relaxing day around Whistler, going to have a coffee, getting sweets, having lunch, etc. It’ll be nice to have a day of not skiing!

So we leave Whistler on the 11th, meeting Adam in Vancouver and spending a week there before heading onto Aukland on the 18th. We’re then spending a couple of nights in Aukland before setting off on our journey around New Zealand. It’s going to be an amazing trip I’m sure - just hope Adam is all packed up and ready to leave the UK to join us!

Well, I’m sure there’ll be more updates soon (honest!). We’ll write a few times in Vancouver and then when we get to New Zealand, who knows when we’ll be able to write! So… keep watching this space!

Quick update

Well, there’s not much really been happening here at the moment apart from the odd trip to the pub to say goodbye to people. It’s all winding down here which is sad, but it also means that before not too long we’ll be off to New Zealand and then Australia! YAY!Anyway, there’ll be more details soon, we’ll put up more photos now that the weather is better!

Well, this past week or so, Mum, Dad, Dave, Sharon, Nett & Peter were visiting on their holiday in Whistler! It was amazing fun with lots of meals out, meals in, hot tub session and amazing ski days. We had some fresh snow just after they arrived and then the skies cleared and we had some amazingly sunny & hot days, it felt like summer but with snow all around, really quite odd!

We’ll write more about the past week soon (hopefully tomorrow), but for now here are some panoramas I recently made up:

Relaxing…

Well… we’ve not really been up to much recently, but thought another post was in order. I’ve uploaded six more photos, a random selection of different ones for people to be occupied with! So everyone complaining about the lack of photos recently, well here you go!

Yesterday we skied with Anneliese for a bit which was really good. The weather was horrible, but the snow up the mountain was really good, so the skiing was fun. Unfortunately still no Symphony as it was closed :-(. Today we’re having a relaxing day as tomorrow will be the start of another tiring week at work and we need to have energy for when Mum & Dad arrive so that we can keep up with their ski days! We need the energy to stop every 5 minutes at Chic Pea for a coffee!!! Speaking of coffee, check out the amazing coffee we had last week at Glacier Creek - our cappuccino workers really are the best on the mountain ;-)

We’re not sure what else we’ll do today, but probably will involve going into town and going to the sweet shop, coffee shop and looking around the ski shops! It’s nice to be able to walk around Whistler not carrying skis everywhere - something that tourists don’t really get to do as they’re always on the slopes.

Anyway, best get cracking now, nothing else to update on, but hopefully more soon!
