I’ve released a new version of my iPhone app, which is now available for download on the App Store. It took a lot less time this time to get it released because I didn’t have to go through any contract signing stages, I just had to upload the binary and await review.
So, get downloading if [...]
Wanted is an awesome film starring Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman. It’s about Wesley (James McAvoy) - a frustrated office worker who is bullied by their boss, whose girlfriend is cheating on him with his best friend and who suffers regular panic attacks.
After meting Fox (Angelina Jolie) he discovers he is actually the [...]
Currently my DVD collection is up to 95 which may not be large by some peoples standards however it’s a start!
While looking through the films I have reviewed so far on this blog I realised that I have only reviewed ones watched at the cinema. I’m therefore going to start working my way through each [...]
Zopa is a social lending platform enabling people to lend and borrow from each other. Some people would say this sounds a bit risky, however Zopa credit check applicants using the same methods banks use and looking at their statistics, they have a very low rate of bad debt (0.16%).
Zopa members also have the opportunity [...]
After 6 days of being available, my iPhone application Subnet Calc has had around 1500 downloads, but ZERO reviews! I’d very much appreciate it if some people could review the app, please?
Also, in more interesting news, I submitted version 1.1 on Monday which hopefully Apple will accept very shortly and then that shall be available [...]
Well, Apple have finally let my iPhone application through the process of application and I now have my contract set up, so future releases should be a lot quicker. If you’d like to try it out, then you can download it through the App Store by searching for ‘Subnet Calc’. So, anyone with an iPhone [...]
Yesterday while killing time in Tesco before going to the cinema with Matt and Al, I spotted the following bundle of Kung Fu Panda with a free Panda! Awesome!
Well, Subnet Calc is still in Apple’s pipeline under the status of ‘Pending Contract’. This means that Apple havn’t accepted my free applications contract yet - over 2 weeks since I submitted it. I’m not the only developer to run into this kind of problem and I really hope it gets resolved soon. The contracts [...]
This was a very sad story really but it was also very funny! Colin Firth was genius as a grumpy and sarcastic man. Kris Marshall was as funny as ever as a butler, and Ben Barnes was just simply cute! All in all, I found it very enjoyable, Mum wasnt so impressed make your own [...]
Here is an iSync plugin I have written for the Nokia 6600 Slide phone. (download)
To install:
Unzip to your desktop
Open up finder and go to your Home Folder -> Library

Copy Nokia-6600-Slide.phoneplugin to the PhonePlugins folder
Restart iSync then add a device
Please note that this works for my purposes, [...]
Today is the first day of Starbucks Christmas which is quite early but it does mean extra drinks on the menu and that everything has gone red!
I managed to buy the first Christmas Thermos cup in Coventry - and I think you’ll agree, its awesome.
I’ve finally submitted my application to the App Store today :-D. It’s called Subnet Calc and there’s only one application on the App Store which does a similar sort of thing. So I’m hoping that it gets accepted!
You can follow the progress of it at http://blog.galloway.me.uk/iphone-apps/subnet-calc/ - I’ll be moving over to a dedicated section [...]
I finally decided to pay my cash and join the iPhone developer program. It’s a fair amount of cash, but I thought that I’d take the plunge and thought that it might give me more of a push to actually create applications for the iPhone. Also, it means I can compile applications and put them [...]
Saw 1 and laughed a lot, missed 2 but thought I would see this, and it is much better than 1. I actually really enjoyed it. I think the advantage with a Disney kiddie thing is that you are warned that it is going to be excessively cheesy so you go in prepared. It really [...]
At the beginning this had some really funny moments. I was quite impressed with Ricky Gervais in a leading role like this as I wasnt really expecting him to be able to pull it off. The script though was I think perfect for him as the guy didnt have to be standard rom com material. [...]
I have had the debate of who would win in a fight between Bourne and Bond for years. Before Casino Royale I would have said Bourne hands down, after Casino Royale I would have said it was a fair fight, now I would say Bourne would be destroyed. I love Daniel Craig’s Bond, he is [...]
