I’ve been hard at work recently developing my iPhone application called ipCalc. It’s probably not an application that most people are going to want to use, but it has fairly simple logic behind it so I decided that it would be a good way to learn about the iPhone SDK. So far I’ve managed to [...]
My copy of Iron Man Ultimate 2-Disc Edition arrived today! I’m a bit surprised that it didn’t contain a booklet but it still looks cool.
We’ve just arrived in Ipswich at Helen’s new house and it’s really nice! I’ve uploaded a couple of photos of her new room - very very nice!
Also, Ed, who owns the house, came 2nd in the UK Robot Wars 4 years ago and won the world Robot Wars! And now he does the Craig Charles [...]
I have been playing football once a week for just over a month now and I have realised something; I’m no footballer!
I have to say - it is quite good fun and definitely a good workout, however unlike most people there I wasn’t brought up on football but instead rugby. I haven’t the understanding or [...]
Recently I have been learning the programming language Objective-C with the view to creating native Mac OS X programs. I bought the book “Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X” which was a brilliant read and had excellent examples to work through - I’d certainly recommend it to anyone thinking about learning about Cocoa.
I found it [...]
Yesterday I finally took the plunge and joined the gym. It isn’t as if I haven’t been exercising as I run most days, play squash at least once a week and play football (badly) on a Tuesday evening. However I haven’t really been getting the results I expected and as the mornings are getting darker [...]
If you like the Coen’s you should love this. It is very funny! I think I prefer them when they do more serious stuff, but this is genuinly in many places laugh out loud funny. Very all over the place, a higgldy piggldy plot, a very quiet sound track, slow moving yet not really affected [...]
If you can go to the cinema already having decided to completly suspend belief you will love this. If you cant you wont. I could so I did! Very good, entertaining, fast and entirely beyond possible. I loved it. Shia LaBoef was as entertaining as ever. Worth seeing!
I really wasnt expecting much from this, I heard that Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr were amazing. They were very funny, especially Tom Cruise who I didnt recognise at first. There were a couple of funny moments that did not involve them but they were not really laugh out loud. It was funny, but [...]
This has a very long title. But it was funny, funnier than Run, Baby Run. I love Simon Pegg and he was entertaining as always. Still not up to the standard of his own work, spaced etc but funny enough as romantic comedies go, better than most.
This was a 15, so I went expecting kind of average violence. Not excessive. It should have been an 18. Not that I didnt enjoy it but I think of the certificate as a warning of what to expect and I did not expect people to be getting spiked and have blood everywhere. It was [...]
Last week I decided to give iPhone programming a try after having download the iPhone SDK a while back. I started to get frustrated with Objective-C because it’s quite a lot different to my old friend, C++ and so I had problems getting into it. In order to learn, I decided to set a challenge [...]
Wednesday morning is quickly becoming my favourite morning of the week. Originally it was one of the worst, having to get up slightly earlier than usual to avoid the cleaners! However it has evolved into something much better!
Wednesday morning is now Starbucks morning. In the beginning it was just me, I’d grab a paper and [...]
