Kung Fu Panda!

Kung Fu Panda was simply awesome! It was entertaining all the way through and not due to innuendo found in films like Shrek, but because it was genuinely amusing!

The animated Jack Black aka Panda was a brilliant character. The film also had an underlying ‘feel good’ plot which was combined with a moral and socially relevant scenario as Panda was quite obviously an orphan as his father was a duck!

Well worth the watch!

I am now into my last week living in Manchester which is a very strange feeling. I have known for just over 8 weeks that I would be moving back to Coventry, however it has come round very quickly.

The apartment has slowly emptied of my stuff over the past couple of weeks and my bedroom in particular is starting to look very bare! I’m planning to move the rest of my stuff back to Coventry on Friday which means I only have four days to get everything done at work! Fingers crossed!

I have started to realise recently how much I will miss Manchester, especially having a nice flat, lots of brilliant places to eat and drink and of course some great friends, however I can’t wait to get back to Coventry.

The main reason to move back to Coventry was to be closer to most of the family and the majority of my best friends are still in Coventry or are back frequently which will be great. It has been quite lonely in Manchester recently, but that is probably more of a reflection of how much effort I have been putting into life in Manchester; next to none!

On a blog related note, I hope to be keeping this a bit more up-to-date, so check back soon!

Well… we’ve been masively out of internet contact over the past couple of weeks, mainly due to the distinct lack of free wireless - we wern’t going to pay $4 an hour for internet, that money could be better spent on other things (no, not beer!).

The end of the trip is sadly in sight, but that means that we’ve been having an awesome last week doing lots of fun things. We’ve been to the Whitsunday islands and had a Long Island Ice Tea on Long Island, we’ve been to the Great Barrier Reef and swum with turtles and basically we’ve just been having an amazing time.

I’m not going to go into details as there’s too much to say, you’ll just have to wait until we’re back for some photos and explanations!!!

Next stop, Singapore!

Gone Baby Gone

This was brilliant. Its release here was delayed because of the Madelaine McCann case but the similarities end with the appearance of the little girl. It is very well acted and incredibly sad. But definatly worth seeing. I am glad, because I like Ben Affleck but he doesnt seem to have done anything good in quite a while and it is nice to know he still has some talent. Casey Affleck was amazing. Havnt seen the assasination of Jesse James yet so i didnt know what to expect. Anyway, definatly worth seeing but be prepared for the fact that it is very sad. Oh, and it also has a good twist.

I thought this was brilliant. The action sequences were cool and Liv Tyler was wicked. However I think I was a little disappointed with Edward Norton. I mean his performance was fine, it was great, but considering how good he is I kind of expected a bit more. I wanted to see him pushed a bit, the anger coming through. However he came out as a passive kind of guy, there was no connection between him and the hulk. It was a little dissapointing but I think that was the only thing and it wasnt that much of an issue! I enjoyed it very much!

Quick update

A very quick update (sorry for the lack of updates recently). We’re in Brisbane at the moment after spending a very nice time in Sydney and Gosford. We spent a couple of days in Sydney and then 4 days around Gosford with Anneliese (our friend from Whistler) which was amazing. We went wine tasting in the Hunter Valley and stayed the night at an awesome golf resort!

Anyway, we’re safe and sound in Brisbane with Helen’s uncle and aunt, where I’m sure we’re going to have a lovely time.

More soon!

Sex and the City

Ok, so it has been two weeks exactly since I last went to the cinema and it has been killing me. I have to find out how to get to the cinema in Liverpool! Anyway, about the film. I never saw the series so wasnt really fussed about seeing this. It was fun as films go but nothing special. Maybe it would be different with show knowledge but without it it was reasonably standard. Fun and entertaining.

This morning I was up and out of the house by 6.30. Nothing new in that, however this morning was different as I am working from Coventry this week and escaped the house to avoid the cleaners who scare me!

So I was in the centre of Coventry just after 6.30am and it was dead. I struggled to find an open car park and when I did, I was the only person there. I assumed Starbucks would be open as I’m sure the ones in Manchester open at 6.30 ish but it didn’t open until 7am.

It was quite nice walking around the centre while it was deserted. It seemed a little like ‘I am Legend’ just without the zombies. However I was a bit of a poor reflection that the only place open at that time of the morning was McDonalds.

On a different note, my new Macbook arrived today! I wasn’t so sad as most people appear to be on YouTube and record the unboxing, but I’m very pleased with it.

I was just checking out the new Asus EEE PC 1000 on YouTube when I spotted the following Macbook Air advert spoof. I particularly enjoyed it as I just book a Macbook:
