A while ago, I came up with a new idea for a website which I (obviously) thought would be quite and interesting experiment. Over the past month or so, I have been recruiting a few of my friends to get involved and now I can announce that the project is officially in the pipeline.

So what is this idea I hear you say, well the basic idea is a fictional story told from several different characters perspective written by different authors. I know this isn’t particularly groundbreaking, however where this idea differs it that everything will be written on a series of blogs.

Each blog will be a window into the private diary of one of the characters, and all the diaries will be aggregated together to create one big story! There will be global plots which run through all the diaries, however the individual authors will have the freedom to go wild with their own characters.

Hopefully I will get things going in the next month, so watch this space.

Deception

I actually knew nothing about this other than the cast, which made it fun! I really enjoyed it, Hugh Jackman basically messes up Ewan McGreggors life with charm sex and then meanness! I really enjoyed it, worth seeing its a kind of battle of the wills.

DITO Cover
ditologo.jpg Many years ago I was in a band with some friends from Coventry. It wasn’t anything serious at all, but we definitely had a good laugh. I was messing around with my guitar the other evening and remembered one of our old song. The song wasn’t particularly well received, probably due to the first verse having some lyrics which could be misinterpreted! The chorus was originally written to be a Christian song but as it is fairly generic, was incorperated into another song. Anyway, I really liked the chorus so I decided to test out GarageBand on my laptop and came up with a little recording. Download: No More Pain 2008 © DITO 2008

Photos!

I managed to quickly get on the internet on my laptop so I thought I’d upload some photos - here they are:

Campervan with Helen and Adam
Our lovely campervan

Dolphin!
A dolphin as seen from our trip out from Aukland on a ferry

Lady Knox Geyser
Geyser at Thermal Wonderland, near Rotorua

Champagne Pool, Thermal Wonderland, Rotorua, NZ
And my favourite part of all so far, the Champagne pool at Thermal Wonderland. It’s an amazing colour around the edge and it steams - hard to explain, but it’s amazing!

New Zealand update

Well, we’re now in the centre of the North Island after having been up to the Bay of Islands, staying in Paihia and down through the country stopping at Cambridge and Rotorua. The campervan is very comfy if a bit small.

All is well, we’ve seen lots of amazing sites and we’re having a very good time!

Unfortunately the internet isn’t quite as advanced out here as it was in Canada, so finding a cheap / free place to use it has been hard, hence the lack of updates of the blog! We’re trying our best though, so keep reading as we might find somewhere to connect my laptop in and upload some photos - we have some awesome ones.

Anyway, that’s all for now, hopefully next time will be a bigger update with a few photos - fingers crossed!

The Oxford Murders

I didnt really know anything about this, other than the fact that it has Elijah Wood in it. Elijah Wood was good! I havnt seen him in anything since Lord of the Rings, so its nice to see it hasnt completely ended his career. This film had a very midsomer murders feel, it was a little bit weird and not exactly cheery! It was quite clever though. If you dont know its about a guy and his professor who try to solve murders in Oxford using maths. It has quite a clever twist and was generally absorbing. I still cant quite explain how i felt about it though.

Randomness

Although things havent been much fun recently, someone at work showed me a website which made me laugh louder than I have in a long time! I can’t explain what it is but check it out: The Fail Blog.

Also, on the way home today I spotted a dog at a pedestrian crossing which started to cross the road. I stopped, the person driving the other way stopped and the dog crossed the road very slowly while yawning. We set back off as if nothing had happened! Very random.

In Bruges

This was not really what i was expecting. It was slower with less action, however that didnt really stop it from being very funny and very good. Ralph Feinnes is just simply genius and his accent is wicked. Colin Farrell was very funny and much better than you would have expected. It has a lot of blood and violence particularly at the end and when i say slow i dont mean boring i just mean not fast cars and endless shooting, although there is rather a lot of that! Worth seeing.

Street Kings

I love Keanu Reeves, I think if he is in an action movie it is going to be good mindless crap. This was a good film, but not testing to the mind. Lots of shooting and shouting and fast driving. Forest Whittaker and Hugh Laurie were cool and added a bit of acting skill. I really liked the soundtrack too, it was very base heavy but it kind of went well with the story. Definatly worth seeing.

Well, we’re here in New Zealand - actually have been here for the whole day but due to the lack of free wifi points, it’s been harder to do internet stuff! New Zealand really isn’t as good as Canada for the internet. But, it’s a really nice place so that’s good.

So far today we’ve managed to get our camper van booked at an incredibly low rate, have a wander around Auckland and go for a pub dinner with Graham (Helen’s Dad), Anna (Helen’s sister) and Natalie (Helen’s sister’s friend)! It’s been a verrrrry long day as we didn’t manage to sleep much on the plane due to MASSIVE turbulence.

So… I’m going to head off to bed now - it’s only 9:21, but I’m tiiiiiiired! More soon hopefully!
